Apple has fixed the charge issue

An update from apple response on charge issue. you could call it is a software update iOS 12.0.1.

 Some users discovered slower Wi-Fi speeds that expected on their new devices. And some problem with wireless network,

There was also an issue with charging, people unable to charge their new smartphone. Some say when the lightning cable is plugged into it and iPhone just sitting on table it will not charge. Other saying that if you tap on the phone and weak it up after the insertion of the lightning cable then it will begin to charge.

Now the problem was solved by apple. Apple has fixed the charge issue. It’s great that apple has responded here in fix this issue.

This is the update right hear fixes an issue where some iPhone 10s devices did not immediately charge when connected to a lightning cable. Now there some fixes in there regarding wireless networking. Some people having an issue there specifically with Wi-Fi it looks like they address that also.
